Butter London links up with footwear designer for special collaboration.
August 8, 2016
By: Melissa Meisel
The amalgamate of style and beauty overlap and sometimes go hand-in-hand—just looks at the personal care sector’s presence at New York Fashion Week. This fall, manicures and the perfect pair of shoes match with the Butter London & Shoes of Prey Nail Lacquer Collection. The limited edition set ($39) features six exclusive nail lacquer shades designed to match the custom design shoe brand’s hottest fall trend fabrics, giving women a fun way to express their unique styles and personalities while nailing down the best looks of the season. For the first time, the prestige color cosmetics and nail lacquer brand known for edgy hues and catch names synched up with the global custom fashion merchandiser. The six exclusive shades were inspired by Shoes of Prey’s hottest fall trend fabrics, with the shade names nodding to the shoe styles that are available for customization on the company’s website and in select stores. Drawing inspiration from lush velvet, buttery suede and textured glitter finishes, the collection features Butter London’s award-winning, highly-pigmented lacquer formulas that can be worn alone or layered together for a custom look. Shoppers can also purchase Shoes of Prey’s range of shoes featuring fabric from the collaboration while customizing the style, fabric and color combinations, and heel height to fit their personal tastes. “Butter London is very excited to partner with Shoes of Prey for this unique collaboration,” says the brand’s president Sarina Godin, New York. “We feel the partnership is directly in tune with our brands’ mutual mission to inspire women to embrace their individual style, authentic selves and have some fun.” According to Godin, after meeting Jodie Fox, one of the founders and chief creative officers for Shoes of Prey, at a Nordstrom trend show event, the pair hit it off and thought there could be “great synergy” by collaborating on a nail collection to match one of their seasonal shoe/fabric collections. “I love the Shoes of Prey brand and really enjoy the customization aspect – it’s fun, playful and very posh, which are all attributes of Butter London,” Godin told Happi. The Butter London x Shoes of Prey collection launched exclusively at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.comfor the 2016 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and will be available on butterLONDON.com beginning Aug. 9. The fabrics are currently available for customization at shoesofprey.com/butterLONDON and in select Nordstrom locations —shoesofprey.com/stores. Other Fall 2016 launches from Butter London include the “completely customizable” BeautyClutch Palette in Glitz & Glamour, mix and match your favorites by simply sliding the eyeshadow, blush and bronzer singles to create your own one-of-a-kind look; Glazen Eye Gloss, a new shimmery eyeshadow featuring a one-of-a-kind gelling agent that gives a playful, pudding-like texture gliding on like a gel and drying instantly to a powdery finish; an expansion of hues inside the Patent Shine 10X nail formula family and a Tailored Eye Tint complete with a unique micro-spoolie for precise application. All products roll out in August at Ulta and online at Nordstrom.com. Although Butter London celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, it considers itself still a small entrepreneurial company that is continuing to grow. Godin noted, “2017 will bring an expansion of our color product line, new distribution and a fresh look and feel for the brand.”
